India Plans to Run Many Hydrogen Buses by 2030
India plans to have up to five hundred clean-energy buses running on hydrogen fuel by the year 2030 to help reduce air pollution.
What is a hydrogen bus?
A hydrogen bus is a large vehicle that uses hydrogen gas as fuel instead of diesel or petrol. When the bus runs, it creates clean energy and only lets out water vapor, which means it does not make the air dirty like normal buses do.
The Green Hydrogen Plan
Abhay Bakre, who leads the National Green Hydrogen Mission, said India is testing these special buses right now. These early tests help the government understand how much money and work it will take to build more hydrogen fuel stations across the nation.
